Alessio Notari:
Title: Primordial Gravitational Waves and Black Holes from the Early Universe

Abstract:
After broadly reviewing my research on the interplay between cosmology and fundamental physics, I focus on one line: primordial gravitational waves as probes of new physics in the Early Universe. I discuss gravitational wave production in theories with broken discrete symmetries which give rise to primordial domain walls and their impact on Pulsar Timing Arrays, which recently provided evidence for a gravitational-wave background. Finally, I explore primordial black hole formation from the collapse of regions surrounded by domain walls, the observational constraints, and their potential as dark matter candidates.
